Active Outdoor Women Love Adventure!
While it can be hardcore adventure, it doesn’t have to be.
Outdoor brands tend to glorify the elite outdoors athlete to the point that it can be intimidating to try new adventures as a normal person. But the outdoors is for all of us!
The Many Health Benefits of Outdoor Activity in Nature
Nature-based outdoor activity is so incredibly healthy for us in so many ways.
- The exercise benefits our physical health, our mental health, our emotional health and our spiritual health.
- Being in nature has proven mental, emotional and spiritual health benefits, too.
It’s like getting a double-whammy of goodness every time we hike, camp, bike, paddle, ski, snowshoe, run…you name it.
We get into that more in the Discipleship section.
Facing Risk Head-On
While it may seem counter-intuitive, risk is actually a key element for growth in every area of life.
Every time we try something new we’re taking a risk. Every time we get out of our comfort zone we’re taking a risk.
We can’t get away from risk. It’s part of being alive. But sometimes intentionally going into a situation with heightened risk causes amazing growth in us.
This could be backcountry camping. It could be canoeing or kayaking on big water, or an unfamiliar river. It could be mountain hiking. It could be bringing our young children or grandchildren into the wilderness for a weekend camping trip.
Facing reasonable risk and “conquering” it is incredibly confidence-building and fulfilling. God uses it all the time in our lives to grow our faith and to experience His goodness.
But don’t worry, we don’t talk about free climbing El Capitan or whitewater kayaking Class IV rapids. We’re not climbing Everest or hiking the entire Appalachian Trail.
There are other groups out there for that.
Active Outdoor Women is for normal, busy Christian women who love the outdoors and love being active.
We’ll inspire you to plan and take outdoor adventures for fun, for growth and for community:
